 D-Tyrosine, the stereoisomer of L-Tyrosine (T899975), is an amino acid employed in various organic syntheses for antibiotics. It plays a role in the synthesis of (-)-anisomycin and BATSI (boronic acid transition state inhibitors), which act on β-lactamases. Additionally, it has been studied as an inhibitor of microbial growth on surfaces, reducing microbial attachment to hydrophilic glass and hydrophobic polypropylene surfaces.
